Not a Child Anymore, by Disruptive Silence Subscribe to rss feed for Disruptive Silence

Ive grown my own pair of wings
Theyve developed and allow me to do new things
Ive outgrown all my toys
And ive moved on to magazines and boys
Im not a child anymore

I have a new perspective on life
What i think is mean and what i think is right
I dont need you to voice my opinion for me
I have a strong brain and mouth, both working like they
should be
Im not a child anymore

I know you want to cover and protect your oldest girl
But what if i never give the world a whirl?
I'll never make a difference or a change
And that will result in a painful emotional exchange
Im not a child anymore

I want to be able to take a stand
Decide on my own what i wish to do with my hands
You have given me the guidance i needed
But now all i want is your disease of hovering to be
treated
Im not a child anymore
