Your heart,
Beats to the rhythm of your pain,
You've a lot to lose,
Not much to gain.
As you close your eyes,
You realise,
You have always felt the same.

The wind,
Blows like the thoughts in your head.
The rain,
Falls like the tears on your bed.
As you look out,
It's not just darkness about,
But the secrets that hide in your room.

The ticking of the clock,
Reminds you of the times you dread,
So you cover your head with your hands.
Until the end of the night,
when you tell them you're alright,
And for another short while,
You show them you fake smile,
So that only you know how you feel.
