The Extinction of Humankind, by Yidhra999 Subscribe to rss feed for Yidhra999

After the world had been created,
the Gods multiplied rapidly.
Most were mutual connected
(as the twelve Gods of the mountain Olympus.)

There is, however;
just as in Christianity,
a story about the extinction
of humankind.

Humans neglected the Gods
by not bringing them sacrifices.
Ra had a counsel
to how to punish humanity.

They decided to sent Sechmet,
a Goddess with the head of a lion,
to send her to Earth and beyond.

She represented the power of the sun
and was thereby personified by evil;
Able to kill humanity.

On Earth she slayed many people,
enjoying the taste of their blood.
The Gods were aghast
When they realized
That this was the extinction
Of humankind.

But Sechmet wanted blood
And could not stop her rampage.
Finally the Gods tricked her.
They let her drink alcohol,
Which looked like blood;
And Sechmet got drunk.

When she awaked,
The killings ended
And humanity had learned
That the Gods were All-Powerful.
