Night after Night, by Invisible Poet Subscribe to rss feed for Invisible Poet

sitting on this mountain side, in the night
the moonlight shining across the water
grinning as with the first light
i watch my dreams flow down to the slaughter

soon i too, must join the walking dead
but for now i remain proud
i will not bow my head
even if i am standing within a shroud

i will allow no one to see me cringe
me being plauged by endless pride
i am almost out of my suffering binge
i ask you my question, eyes open wide

hoping it will play out like my flashback
the memory that has never occured
dreaming the ropes will no longer be slack
and i will be rewarded for having endured

what can i do, i will not flee away
never will i run away in fright
i will sit up away from it all, letting the mountain sway
i will return, and wait, night after night
