Wirebound, by Invisible Poet Subscribe to rss feed for Invisible Poet

metal bound and heavy tonight
my heart dangles from leather strap
leaping all about even when touch is slight
i tread without caution, fearing no trap

wire bound and warm to the touch
hard as stone and firm against time
no one must know that i care this much
it drives me wild to know this is no crime

my heart it hangs, dangling there
in plain eye view for all to see
peeking through your golden hair
close to your chest, as it should be

warm against your skin
yet cold to all who reach
no one else can find there way in
my walls no one could ever breach

you wear the key to my domain
around your neck so fragile
your happiness it keeps me sane
and is the cause for every smile
