What Happened To The Love?

What happened to the love that once shone so brightly?
That stood strong and proud;
Where others failed.
Did it die of indifference,
Of routine and habit?
Will the truth of it's death ever be known?
 
What happened to the love that once knew no bounds?
That was firm and resolute;
Where others foundered.
Did it live past its time,
Its place and its purpose?
Will the fact of its passing ever be mourned?

 
What happened to the love that once seemed unending?
That was honest and true;
Where others were false.
Did it die of dishonesty,
Of deceit and deception?
Will time heal the wounds and lighten the scars?
