My Journey Home, by angela kay zea Subscribe to rss feed for angela kay zea

As I lay awake awaiting my final journey home I think of my
legacies that will live on; my beautiful children, my
amazing grandchildren and my incredible husband. Though
your heart is aching now, you will be okay. You have each
other. Lean on each other. You will always have me. Just
look up high past the trees. Never look down, but persevere
and look only ahead.

I left you in the fall, but you will feel my presence
always. When the bitter winter winds blow I will be kissing
you hello. As spring begins so you will begin to heal and
grow stronger together, just as the rose blooms in spring
after a long winters sleep. Think of me, but do not weep,
for it is my spirit and my memories that you will forever
keep. You will hear from me here and there. Glimpses of my
smile in your thoughts, the sound of my laughter through
your children, a tap on the shoulder or a tug in your heart
just to let you know we will never be apart.

Dry your tears, calm your fears, pick yourselves up and move
only forward. Do not look back at yesterday, but focus your
vision on today and your future goals. I will watch over
you, hold you close with my spirit, and give you strength
when you are weak. Though my journey home has ended, I am
now enjoying eternal sleep, renewed peace, freedom from pain
and eternal light to guide me to my new home that has been
prepared for me.

I love you all, and I ask that you be strong and stand tall.
Until we meet again, I will be with you until your end.

Especially written for an extremely special friend.
