Let Go and Listen, by Annie B. SnowRaven Subscribe to rss feed for Annie B. SnowRaven

The wind blows behind the glass window
But I hear boys and girls, laugh in front of it
They are loud and playful...
But make no room for other things
to be heard

A dark haired boy screams
The rest scream along and laugh
But I sit there
still
trying to hear the wind

A browned-eyes boy speaks
the rest sit still and quiet
it was then that I hear the wind
but was alone at the doing of it

He speaks his words
The rest clap
Clap!
But I remain still
not showing any sign of respect

I keep trying
The wind keeps blowing
It wants me to listen
But as long as I'm there
trapped
Not a chime I can hear

I open the door
Walk away
and set out to hear again
it is there
waiting
and whispering in my ear
