THE ONE FOR ME, by Chuck Shorter Subscribe to rss feed for Chuck Shorter

This poem is dedicated to my wife who is my truest friend.

Sometimes a penny pincher
At times a real nag - bag.
Yet a munificent mother
and a warm hearted lass.

There's times I wanna punch her nose
But I never will I guess.
Cause Every time I needed Love,
Only she said "Yes."

When She's around it seems mundane
But I miss her when she's out.
That's when I long to hold her tight
Or hear her angry shout!

She never will express her love
Maybe that's her gig.
But in the quiet of the night,
her hugs are warm and big!

No real meter in her life
Not to mention Rhyme!
However, I want her by my side
Until the end of time.

for many reasons... I voted 9. Your poem has a warm hearted flow like one that pours straight from the heart. I like the rhythm, rhyme. I especially like the last two lines. :) Great Job on this poem.

Chuck, first off I want to say think you for all you wonderful comments on my poetry, you are always very encouraging! second, I love this poem! your love for your wife is so clear, along with the joys and trials of love. as little as it is, your use of the word "lass" in the second line made me smile. God bless you and yours, Amanda
