MY SON, by POOR JOSIE >j< Subscribe to rss feed for POOR JOSIE >j<

HIS SMILE WOULD OPEN UP A LIGHT
DEEP INSIDE MY HEART
I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THE DAY
THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PART

I CLOSE MY EYES AND SEE HIM HERE
IN THIS VERY ROOM
THAT PRECIOUS BOY WHO RULED THE WORLD
I CARRIED IN MY WOMB

I FEEL HIM HERE BESIDE ME
I REACH OUT TO TOUCH HIS HAND
I FEEL THE TERRIBLE EMPTINESS
THAT ONLY A PARENT COULD UNDERSTAND

I SIGH AGAIN AS I HAVE
EVERY SINGLE DAY
I PRAY TO KNOW WHY HE IS GONE
AND WHY HE COULD NOT STAY

I'LL CLOSE MY EYES AGAIN TONIGHT
AND HOPE THAT WHEN I WAKE
I'LL FEEL HIS SMILE LIGHT UP MY HEART
AND SEE HIS LOVING FACE

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY SON TJ
