                         Shadows
                              By Thomas Curtis

I watch you pause as you stepped forward
In confidence you challenge the room
Not smiling, yet not grim you walk past shadows
You nod your acknowledgment and they fade
Defiant in attitude the room submits
In certainty you brush back your hair
Your irreverence witnessed, shadows retreat
In restrained attraction your presence disturbing
The specters withdraw in sensual tension
Your steps are deliberate your exit anticipated
In radiance you move through the room
