Those that really know me look inside to see Only then can one truly appreciate my spirit free I possess a soul so tender and sensitive Hidden a powerful love I do not freely give My friendship is solid like a bar of gold A deep loyalty one can genuinely behold While regenerating a healing heart I am optimistic for the most part Once again I wish to trust Even though at times life seems so unjust With a strong symbolic nature I really am just a gentle creature Moments in time I choose to symbolise In the future maybe others will realise Through all the emotions I felt it all Still day after day I did not fall On many occasion it seemed so hard As time goes by I’m learning to lower my guard I wear a symbol on my shoulder Forever to remember even when I am older Determined for my focus to remain clear Keeping my own needs in vision I must persevere Mindful not to stress over what is out of my control While doing my best for my son by setting a positive role My beautiful boy is my drive he is my real Conscious of my every emotion not to conceal I understand my actions will effect his personal growth From the day he was born to guide I made an oath Much like me he bears a symbolic personality While oozing copious amounts of originality Symbolising my life in time Finding it a breeze to speak in rhyme I have a goal to find and express my feelings true To finally bid my tough persona adieu Some day soon this goal I will reach Getting in touch with my feelings expressed through speech
