  Just think how
Your life would be
  If it weren't for our
Country's history
  All of the struggles
That we've surpassed
  And the American
Pride that lasts
  The many freedoms
That we share
  Thanks to those
Who said "I dare"
  Who took the
Challenge, and won
  Just like president
Abraham Lincoln
  An underdog,
He started out young
  Not many supporters
Yet he got the job done
  Took on a burden
With tension rising
  North against South
No more compromising
  An ultimatum,
Comply, or war
  "A quick victory"
Each had swore
  Four years of fighting
And all slaves were free
  Think how that made
Life for you and me
  Can't understand
The pain they endured
  But now their life
And liberty was ensured
  Thanks to Lincoln
Our country could now be
  America,
The land of the free
