The Coward, by Julia Anne Subscribe to rss feed for Julia Anne

This man, Oscar was his name,

He was more cowardly than a dame.

Oscar was scared of everything.

People agreed that there had to be something

That he did not fear.

Then one day that “thing” did appear.

Her name was Abigail.

And every last detail

Was perfectly suited for Oscar dear.

She made his fears instantly disappear.

Alas! Alas! She never saw him standing there.

Abigail, so fair.

So pure of heart and soul.

Losing Abigail took its toll.

Poor young Oscar began to lose his hair.

He realized that true love is rare.

Oscar began to get depressed

Thinking that nothing could put his soul to rest.

One day at dawn he took his life,

Fore he had heard that Abigail was now a wife.
