Darkness of The Night, by Anthony Cardon Subscribe to rss feed for Anthony Cardon

I sat here on my cotton pillow,
Staring into the deep night sky,
A dark blue contrasted by the stars shining through.
This balcony was always my comfort.

Wind blew and insects scurried about.
All was peaceful.
All was slowly falling into negrescence.
It was then that I noticed

The flesh-colored structure lying far below me,
Hidden beneath the soft cedar branches.
Its figure I remembered, but blurred by red.

And I realized where I saw it last:
In the mirror.

My soul sunk and
The peacefulness
Performed all but
The stopping of time, the sun would rise once more.

Slow agitation
Crept through the
Night's atmospheric aura,
And my place of existence would change.

The full moon’s illuminacy
Cut through my own body
As I realized my true nature.

The clock ticks.
And time will come.

Absolutely beautiful...very expressive I love it! And thanks for the comment on my poem Suicide Lovers, I wasn't really confident in it actually but I am so glad you like it! I hope by reading more of each other's poems, we can both learn and write better and better....
