Discords of Unity, by Telperinon Subscribe to rss feed for Telperinon

A circle lies upon the wall
Spilt in two by curved line
Fought over by beasts
Both desiring possession
Of a symbol of unity

One in shiny scales
Jaws open, with deafening roars,
Body extended to fullest length,
Yet aware of every movement
Silver eyes, always calculating

One in striped fur
Eyes narrowed, claws outs,
Growling low, body tensed
Like an arrow on a bow, ready
To strike, deadly and precise

Yet neither moves
They guard their halves
Growling, snapping, clawing
At each other, yet they are
Unable to leave their half

Unsure if it will stay theirs
If they claim the other
Yet as they strive against
Each other, both are
Parts of a single entity

Neither one has figured out
They are not separate
But linked together
Neither one will comprehend
That both are required
To form the whole
Neither one can understand
Without one
There is no other
