A New Beginning, by Tyler Pender Subscribe to rss feed for Tyler Pender

What have I done?
Was that really me?
Why couldn't I run?
Why couldn't I see?

The deceptive serpent
With his sinful hold,
Trapped my heart,
And led me from the fold.

My strength has faded
With my Spirit held captive.
Will this be my eternal state?
Will my desire ever exceed passive?

Where can I get that light of Christ,
And who will spark it for me?
Will the road to getting back
Ever be clear enough to see?

After being strangled by the chains of Hell,
I had a feeling of which I once felt.
A torch was lit inside of me
While bearing this testimony:

"I know Jesus, the Christ, lives,
And that He shed His blood for me.
By the torture of His stripes
After the suffering at Gethsemane.

With every sweat of blood
Dripping from His being,
Not one fell to the gound
Lacking a certain meaning.

For in that garden of love
I know a few drops were spilt for me.
That I might have the chance
To fulfill my eternal destiny."

As the tears ran down my cheek,
I found what I've been trying to seek.
A new life, a new start,
Clean hands, and finally, a pure heart.

That old path which seems new,
Is the same trail never ending.
Where there is always found a way.
A way to a new beginning.
