And Then She Was No More, by Veracity Subscribe to rss feed for Veracity

She walks forward as if in a trance
Her steps mechanic, her movements jerky
She could easily pass for a zombie
Just ten feet away lies her destination
Her haven, her savior, her salvation
A noose hangs down from the inifinite darkness
Seemingly tied to nothing
A footstool sits right below it
Perfect for being kicked away
Perfect for taking a life

Her blue eyes are blank
Her face as white as a hospital linen
Her blonde hair lank and unkept
It looks as if there is no blood left in her
She looks skinnier, wanner, bones protruding under her skin
She appears to not have eaten in days
Dark shadows underline her vacant stare
Indicating a severe lack of sleep for some time
She moves without grace, a hunch in her square shoulders
The pride she once carried herself with is gone

Her blank slate of a face betrays years of pain
Years of suffering, years of horrific images
She watched them all die, one by one
Her family, friends, and students
Until she was the only one left
She cried for days on end
Longing for Death to come and seize her
And bring her back to her loved ones
But Death never came for her
Leaving her in this world to suffer
Smirking at her sobs of agony

Now it all doesn't matter if Death did not come
She will bring Death to her
She steps up onto the footstool without flinching
And adjusts the noose 'round her neck
The knot resting behind her head
She takes a deep breath, no fear in her eyes
And swiftly kicks the stool away
Her body jerks, swings wildly, and then is still
The corpse hangs from the rope, the head bowed as if in
prayer
For her, it has all ended
Far away, a scream of anguish can be heard
As blackness consumes everything

That really showed true emotion, made me cry a little. Did you really have to watch all your loved one's die? That would be devastating, but let me tell u one thing... You lived for a reason, don't throw it all away. It may seem like you have no reason to go on, but you are ment on earth. God should be the judge of life or death. Promise me you'll hold on tight and stay strong. K?

Thank you for the comment. This was actually based on a dream that I had. Why the woman committed suicide in the dream I did not know, so I had to take some liberties with that.
