God Bestowed on Me an Angel, by Lifesangel Subscribe to rss feed for Lifesangel

God bestowed on me an Angel
I assumed it was for keeps
Nine months to love and nurture
My Angel while he sleeps.

Shielding him from danger
I locked him in my womb
Shared with him some secrets
Imagined how he’d bloom.

My joy soon turned to sorrow
The night the Shadow came
I had to hand my angel back
To Heaven once again.

Did I fail him as a keeper?
Mistreat him with my love?
Found guilty without trial
By the Jury up above.

Your tiny heart upon a screen
No longer was it beating
You left before I said ‘Goodbye’
There was no final meeting.

Wish I’d held you in my arms
And tears still come in plenty
Sleep my baby, rest in peace
Until they come to get me.

In Loving memory of Naylor Jo, Love mummy xxxxxx
