Eyes I, by Anna Lorena Subscribe to rss feed for Anna Lorena

Sitting here alone,
Dreaming of being part of a pair,
Hoping that once again I will connect-
And this time for Keeps.

Watched the people again today,
Saw them going two by two,
Smiled to myself ruefully as they passed-
Wanting what they have for my own.

Before classes they meet,
	          they kiss,
	          they embrace,
Parting for an hour or so's time,
Anxiously awaiting their reunion.

Ran into another today.
He was a spectator too,
He only observed from on the outside-
We were alike.

Caught up with him,
Found the other wanderer again,
Just can't shake this feeling-
We've started something.

Before classes we meet,
	          we conspire,
	          we talk,
Parting for an hour or so's time,
Patiently awaiting our reunion.

Friendship glimmers, then it glows,
Growing and morphing as time passes-
Pausing briefly
While flowers bloom.
