Snow, by Amnesia Subscribe to rss feed for Amnesia

Cuddled up in comfort of leaves
That fill the floor with thee
like a blanket of color
reddish brown and yellow pallor
that seeps into the soil
where all life wonders

awoken by the crushing of leaves
that crackle under uneven feet
where silence is broken and for a reason
treading life that is hidden
on the very dust that covers
the stoic structures that lay aware

the chilling winds that sing its song
a lullaby that fills the distance
catching hold of grit and folly
with grasping hands of deep reverence
eyes that gaze upon the meadow
and so it freezes so none could follow

ensconce in this mellow fellow
stored and hidden from the world beyond
cruels heart may remorse in sorrow
so that gratitude may rise tomorrow
to flap its wings to the clouds above
and smile upon the true, at last

so like stillest tombs they lay
embedded withing the ground they tower about
stretching their fingers to the sky
crying out for the summers light that peaks above
and so the last leave fall to the sea below
cover with thousands of what now is hollow

like flakes they fall from the sky
marking their reign has come by
dancing to the tune that is played just right
to make those forget their bitter moments and blight
for what now lies bare
forms a blanket of pure white.
