laughing place, crying place, by Anna Lorena Subscribe to rss feed for Anna Lorena

Everybody needs to make:
A laughing place,
A crying place-
Everybody needs a secret space
To release their joys and tears.
A child's world overflows with joys
And is no stranger to showing sorrows;
A teenager's world becomes so muddled
That these freedoms fade away;
And an adults world banishes them completely-
But everybody needs to have:
A laughing place,
A crying place-
Somewhere other than within.
A blank white page makes a good escape-
A lauging place,
A crying place-
Where no one else needs to see
Unless they are shown.
A poet shares their private space-
Their lauging and their crying place
With others who don't quite know
How to create their own-
How to vent their joys and sorrows-
Or don't have a voice strong enough to be heard.
So here I share my laughing pace-
My crying place-
And lend myself to the world.
