By Anna Lorena

Once again we turn to darkness, Once again embrace the night, Once again we turn from lifeless, Once again refute sun's light. Weather The dancing snow whirls; Covers the filth of man; Nearly blankets distorted earth, But cannot mask in full The damge done. The rain falls heavy And washes down The folly of the mind, Yet the rain cannot undo The damage done. The sun bakes dry; It lets all grow And plants reclaim earth, Yet all that grows cannot disguise The damage done. Hail does beat that created Not by natural hand, But hail even cannot revert To earth's scarred crust From damage done. Pairs Grey day Grey heart rain Falls tears Fall Flood of river Flood of emotion earth Drowns hurt Drowns End rain End tears sun Heals time Heals Whichever falling tumbling unrestrained unchecked unknown undone. re-formed re-started made again rent again part of part from all may either be 1 in love 2 out of love Compounds Freely Bound Controlled Freefall Unchecked Measures Unknown Wisdom Creatively Rent Outwardly Private Withheld Exposure Advanced Primatives Bitter Candy Sweet Tears Opposited Likenesses Where to go? What to do? Indesicion paralysis Leaving nothing done. Mourning into Dancing When I sit and stare at bare walls, I do not know how not to think. My mind fills with things I would rather it not And I have no way to shut it down, So I resign to the onslaught of memories, The torrent of words and images That tumble from the archives of my brain Amd wonder how I came this far. I recall then who pulled me through- To the cheering-up moments we girls shared: From drooling over fictional hotties To the insanity of the booty slapping game And I laugh so bloody hard That the hurt seems trivial To the joy it brought on. I am a poet By my own definition. Love can be beautiful Or it can be painful But whatever it is You learn from it.
