shattered, by Anna Lorena Subscribe to rss feed for Anna Lorena

Confident in skills and terms.
Unbreakable
Stamped on the bottom of the Pyrex bowl.
Unbreakable
Without fear of falling on any dimension.
Unbreakable
Then
Suddenly
Things
Change
And the dish tips
Over the edge
And no one believes
It really occured.
No one understands
Accidents happen.
No one understands
We don't always have
Control.
Glass hits cement from fourty feet up.
Unbroken?
Impact turns the bowl into pieces-
Pieces of a puzzle on the sidewalk-
Missing bits here and there.
Un-unbroken.
And on one shard glittering in the bright sunlight
Everyone else basks in
Can be read one word:
Unbreakable.
