Metamorphosis, by My name is Danni (Funeral Bliss) Subscribe to rss feed for My name is Danni (Funeral Bliss)

I.
Shyly waiting to
See, be close enough
To touch, naps by the
Phone to hear it ring.

Sits listening to
The nightingale's song
Without light, sight and
Smiles at news of spring.

II.
Ice cream kisses by
The cool pool, eyes closed,
Head bowed, and whispers
Of forget me not.

Paints the living room
In a blue hue and
Laughs when fashion
Savvy friends declare it hot.

III.
Didn't lie, didn't cry when
Innocent neighbours
Asked why his picture
Was gone from the wall.

Caught feathers on my
Fingertips, watched them
Blow, watched them flow in
Memory of fall.

IV.
Forgets his name, he
Does the same, and doesn't
Mind when love letters
Are covered in mold.

With open doors, bare
Feet on floors, wonders
Why I've forgotten
The encroaching cold.
