i admire your strength, little bird
you have been broken too many times
yet, you are willing to still give life a try
this world has beaten against you for too long
this front wind plowing you over
and the storm has raged against your delicate frame
you were shoved from your comfortable nest
so early, oh, too soon
and it is too late for you to be comfortable again
i'm watching from the window, little bird
as you fly against the gray skies
as you attempt to soar through this downpour
and there is almost nothing left of you
a fragile frame with fractured wings
tiny bones and ruffled freathers
but, little bird, you are so beautiful
with your endless sea foam eyes
there is still a time and a place for you
even in this world
and, as i watch through the window,
i admire all that is in you
your determination
your hope
the love you have to give
and, through these tired tears,
past this downfall toward the solid earth,
i know you are going to make it
you have so much to show the world
so much to prove
so much to say
so far to fly
though you've lost your way
keep your head high
and know that, from those weathering heights,
i will be watching from my window
cheering you on
sending my prayers
thinking of you
little bird
