Life's Surprises, by Trish Subscribe to rss feed for Trish

I sit here looking back
Over years gone by
I can see where I have been
And what led me where I am
Never did I plan to be on this path
Or expect the things that have come by

As a girl I dreamed of
Many things a girl dreams wants
I always thought I'd be rich
Always with money to spare
I thought of parties and trips
Of days spent in luxury

I wasn't wise enough
To see life's true plan
As I became a young adult
I mourned what I thought was missing
I lamented all the things I didn't have
No money No trips No days in luxury

But as a woman I can see
I have money for groceries
I take trips to the pediatrician
I get quiet when the kids are sleeping
And that's a luxury
Just another bit of life's surprises
