Sitting here,
My fingers are numb,
The coffee leaves only,
A bitter aftertaste.
The guilt is raw,
The pain - confused,
I want you to know,
I don't see it as waste.
Finger on the volume dial,
Just a little more bass,
To push away the thoughts,
To pound with the hail.
The irony of the storm,
Doesn't pass my tired mind,
I'm in and out of focus,
Shivering, pale.
The bleak desklamp,
Assures me it's not my fault,
That one day I'll see,
That there was always light.
The words may be simple,
But they're blindingly true,
I_never_meant_to_hurt_you,
And you know that... right?

There's something too heavy,
For me to keep afloat,
Tone down the drama,
Shut up, just shut up!
There's not much here,
Just some 'empty angst',
An empty page,
And 5 empty coffee cups.
I want to talk to you,
To understand how you feel,
Hoping you see sincerity,
Somewhere in these blue eyes.
More than anything else,
I just need to know,
What YOU really mean,
So I can filter the lies.
One little bracelet,
Shouldn't be able to speak,
So loudly, with so much hurt,
Tuck the silence in tight.
The words may seem hollow,
But they're so heavy to hold,
I_am_so_so_sorry,
And you know that... right?
