Bracelet, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

They used to be together,
She fell a little far,
But amongst all her darkness,
He was her only star,
Although she denied it,
Her feelings did run deep,
He gave her a bracelet,
Forever hers to keep,

When the whole thing ended,
When they were no more,
Her feelings still remained,
But his remained unsure,
She fast became clingy,
He withdrew faster with each day,
He walked his heart away from her,
And strolled it along my way,

As he and I became close,
Rekindled an old past,
She became quite clearly jealous,
When she realised it could last,
She and I seemed so polite,
So kind, so nice, so warm,
But underneath thoughts were brewing,
Towards an emotional storm,

I told him to be nice to her,
He didn't even try,
At school that day at lunchtime,
We stood and watched her cry,
I asked her if she was okay,
She replied that she was fine,
I never wanted to hurt her,
I must have crossed that line,

I felt guilty in history,
Longed for the oblivion of sleep,
Then she put the bracelet down in front of me,
And said, "It's yours to keep",
I was too shocked to move,
As she turned and walked away,
I guess that it's not really my fault,
But I took her star away.
