There’s a land in my head
where the violins play
and the clarinets sing their sad songs,
where the dragons all cry to the sound of the bass
and the elves dance in ecstatic throngs.

There’s a place in my dreams
where the butterflies go
and the nymphs in the redwood trees sigh,
where the roses and lilacs grow triple their size
and the skies, in scarcity, cry.

There’s a world in my books
where the clouds will play tricks
and appear as white dragons and drakes,
where the trees pick up all their own fallen leaves
and there would be no purpose for big, bulky rakes.

There’s a space in my thoughts
where my heart can run free
and my soul could skip wildly around,
where the wind would tell me all the secrets to life
and my love would be infinitely unbound.

There’s a town in the sky
where dreams really come true
and there’s everything you’d like to find,
where those with a heart can be given new starts
and all faces seem equally kind.

There’s a door in a field
where magical creatures all gather about,
and you can call upon them anytime,
where all of the world’s hopes and fears live on a very
large shelf
and this place is equally both yours and mine…
and all you have to do is open that door inside your mind.

I love this. I really do. I know this might sound strange, but 'Mental Paradise' came to mind while I was reading this piece. Since it's in your mind and seems like paradise.

Yeah, come to think of it, tear-filled-eyes is probably right. "There's a..." seems to have an alluring affect and fit the piece.
