Love Sick, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

A shattered beam of angry light,
Brings colour to her face,
Her simmering thoughts she cannot fight,
Her emotions she cannot place,
She can't ignore the fission,
That electrifies her heart,
She feels his presence without vision,
Even when they're apart,
Love has tossed her around,
And she won't be messed with again,
She gives her denial a stubborn sound,
Hoping to reject inevitable pain,

His confidence is irritating,
Ripping down barriers with ease,
He wants her now she's sick of waiting,
Suavely dodging the word 'please',
He's drawn to her just like before,
His instincts remember why,
The conscience he used to ignore,
Falters as he sees her eyes,
He fought his feelings elsewhere,
Pride shoved back his need,
Scared of every accusing glare,
But his heart now fills with greed,

Her ears home in on his voice,
She tries to convince herself,
That she still has a choice,
That she wants friendship and nothing else,
But her mind has no ammunition,
Against the defiance of her heart,
But diving into a shadowed pool,
Probably isn't very smart,
He's dragged down her defences,
But it's because of him they're there,
Her craving holds no pretences,
But her vulnerability won't be shared,

He feels her dancing on his mind,
And attempts to get her attention,
He recalls how fate was once unkind,
He's re-addicted to her affection,
He holds the hand of another girl,
But as emotions flood back he compares,
And in no way does she dominate his world,
Like the one for which he really cares,
Because all along she's been the one,
Who's made him feel alive,
To the hurt he made himself numb,
Despite the shadows he wants to dive.
