You say I don't smile much anymore
But tell me what do I have, worth smiling for
I know. I know. This time of year I should be thankful
For the things that I have, so dear to me

But I can't help but feel a little selfish
And I think the world should mourn for me
Because to have once loved and then lost you
Well no part of me can smile, this thanksgiving

So love, don't even critize me
I can't pretend to enjoy myself
And when the corners of my mouth don't turn up
I hope you know, you did it to me
And I hope you cry
Cause God knows I do, everyday
And when I try to hold back the tears
Those salty droplets still find their way

This is my worst season of the year
Mother nature is miserable
And she reminds me of all the times we had that year
So it's only right that I feel the same

And I can't help but feel a little helpless
I think the world should rescue me
Because I once loved but I lost you
World, pray for me this thanksgiving
