Christmas In Minnesota
Trees are all laden with new fallen snow
Sparkling like diamonds everywhere you go
Colored lights twinkle from windows and lawns
Plastic reindeer, Rudolf and even some fauns
Stand on the rooftops each wearing a bow

Carols are sounding all over the city
I in my fake fur am trying to be witty
Packages piled high in my arms and it's snowing
So I can't see where I am going
Down I go in the snow. What a pity

All is covered with a blanket of white
Colored lights stay on through the night
Off somewhere choir voices ring
Echoing praises to the king
Over this all the moon shines bright

Inside everything's almost ready
Children are sent to bed with their teddy
Parents scurry to wrap all the toys
For their good little girls and boys
Oops! Need to make the tree more steady

The tree is steadied with a skillful hand
My, doesn't it look grand?
Heavily laden with trinkets galore
It's a miracle it doesn't fall on the floor
I bet it's the best tree in the land

Morning comes early on Christmas day
Sounds from downstairs are merry and gay
Presents being opened and squeals of delight
Wonder what Santa left last night
I heard him on the roof with his sleigh

Today we'll be feasting on turkey and pie
And ham and sweet taters 'til evening is nigh
Men will watch football, women will gab
Happy will be every lassie and lad
And when it's all over we'll heave a big sigh.
