He stands there strong
Dressed to fight
He’s honor bound
To do what’s right
For love of country

He’s proud to serve
When he is called
He’ll do his best
He’ll give his all

He’ll go on point
To clear the way
He’ll risk his life 
Both night and day

He’ll sleep at night
Upon the ground
He’ll clean his gun
He’ll count his rounds

He’ll freeze all night

If he survives
And makes it home
He finds it hard
He feels alone
