The Forbidden Fruit, by Robert Subscribe to rss feed for Robert

There is a tree in the midst of the garden
I must tell you a story so I am begging your pardon
A serpent, a snake in a forbidden tree
said if you eat this fruit you shall surely see
A lie he told using half truth
the thing that resulted was quite uncouth
Now man and woman that once had it all
indulged their flesh and took a mighty fall
Sin now entered into the human race
a life complete in the Father it did replace
The fruit was an apple or a fig so they say
but it was the fruit of another I tell you this day
Now we deal with the flesh that lives discontent
always looking to another for the heavenly sent
To be satisfied and just see it through
is all the Father is asking us to do
Now the price for our lives and freedom has been paid
the blood was poured out and the foundation laid
All that's required is to die to our pride
to live life's in Christ so the Father can abide
