I'm holding back a cough, 
It turned to a choke.
I try to make it quiet,
But you awoke.
Gotta keep a smile,
Pretend I'm alright.
Just for awhile.
Trust me, I'm not always this depressed.
I have my moments.
Ups and downs,
But downs seem to cling.
I want to tear down the demon deep inside my soul.
Somehow my life it took control. 
It refuses to let go. 
The more I fight back,
The more it digs in.
Way too deep under my skin.
The sickness spreads throughout my body.
I'm becoming what I am. 
Just a stupid emo,
The one everyone hates.
There's nothing else I can be.
Emo is as far as I can reach.
