those rhymes I leave and all the "I love you"s
were meant to be heard and meant to engulf you
pick you up from this place where we hide
and maybe just be enough to open your eyes
although these times may be feeling so long
I mean what I wrote, its YOU behind every song
it's not just the melody and the rhythm I hear
its the places, people, and the memories here
If I could I'd take you back in some way
Up on the rocks in Central park that day
It Friday thirteenth and I thought it was luck
we just happened to plan a trip in that month
the train ride I was so nauseas
I knew it'd be yes but still I was cautious
I pulled you away so I would find the strength
and I looked in those eyes and knew
If I could do it everyday I'd propose
drag out your father my mother to hear the way it goes
I said I loved you and your laugh may have made me tremble
but you say together forever, you don't need any symbol
Sure it may be dumb to have spent all my cash
but for you baby I felt I needed to let it pass
