Love rhymes with hideous car wreck

I always thought you'd be here for me in my worst times.
At my lowest of lows I can hear the door latch outside.
You've walked away from me and your problems again.

I never thought you could be such a coward.
Sitting on that park bench when you told me you couldn't go
on
There are mars on the concrete from my burning tears.

I can dip my fingers far into the hole you left in my
chest.
After you told me that you can't love me anymore, but why?
You don't mean that, I love you too much for you to leave.

I'm such a fool to think that I could tame you.
Still I mourn the loss of my heart torn from my ribs
There lying on the floor a deep stain forms on my shirt.

I know I can't make your mind up but oh how I'll try.
Abandoned, lost and incomplete when will I be whole again?
You're the only one who can make me live yet I would die for
you.
