Not your average set of brown eyes.

Eyes beautiful like liquid gold
they moved and flowed and spun
over and over, falling than catching itself
in pools of ambrosia.

Eyes as stunning as the clearest topaz
they glitter and dance as he laughs
the sea merchants gold filled pockets jingled jealously of
his shine,
on the docks where we grew up.

Eyes of honey wine in glasses so deep
you’d have thought they reached in past his soul
stare in and drink deep
Because of you I am inebriated but I don’t mind.

Eyes bright and true as the last light in a storm
when everything else has run for cover there he remains
pulsing steadily out toward a chaotic sea that is life,
I know he will always be strong in hard times.

Eyes, soft, warm and smooth as caramel
a hue so pure and unrefined
lovers of sweet pine for the slightest fix,
Their sweetness only matched by the taste in his kiss.
