Heartbreak, by BrwnEyes Subscribe to rss feed for BrwnEyes

You’re packing your stuff now,
Barely giving me a glance.
I know this is it for us,
We’ll never have another chance.

You zip up your suitcase,
And heave it on your shoulder.
You finally glance up at me,
Noticing errant tears on my face.

Walking over,
You take me in your arms.
Giving me one last kiss,
Oh, your kiss I will miss.

Finally pulling away,
Our foreheads, they meet.
Both of us wanting you to stay,
Knowing this goodbye is bittersweet.

You run your hands,
Down my cheek.
Wiping away the tracks,
Of salty tears that have leaked.

My intake of breath,
Turns into a sob.
As you go to the door,
Hand on doorknob.

You don’t hesitate to open it,
And walk away.
Taking my heart with you,
Leaving me that day.
