I have a ghost inside my room
She stares at me by night
She's hiding in my inmost gloom
Between all hate and fright

Her hair is unwashed, black and long
It hides most of her face
She's singing the most dreary song
Through all those lonely days

She's painting hearts on skinny arms
The big ones carry names
She can't do anyone no harm
And she's hiding her own pain

She cries at night, it wakes me up
She hardly sleeps at all
Sometimes I try to make her stop
But I'm speaking to a wall

She looks for something that is dead;
That sparkle, which she's lost
That girl who's crying in my bed
Is the ghost of who I was

Kinda saw the ending coming... and yet i was still surprised by it. So, does the ghost represent a sadder version of you... hmmmmm...

very interesting poem.. i think everyone as a ghost somewhere inside of them.. the darker and sadder side.
