Dancing Heart, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

The piano notes lilt back and forth,
I raise my head slowly.
My eyes are faraway, lost somewhere else.
I step forwards on pointed toes,
Leaning into each movement,
My head follows smoothly.
I melt into the music.
Emotions whirl on pirouettes,
Thrown with feeling into arms.
Thoughts disappear into every soft perfection.
Every contraction, every leap,
Frees hurt inside my heart.
I glide into the finishing position,
Style ebbs away.
My heartbeat slows in satisfaction,
I realise I don't have any breath,
And I smile.
