Falling to the Melody, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

Let the treacle calm poison fears,
Thicken the blackened tears,
Until you can't cry no more.
For although you never let a tear escape,
You cry plenty under dream's cape,
Always washed up on a desolate shore.

When you open your eyes and watch the world sway,
Wondering what denial you'll choose today,
Keeping the load light so you can run away.
Can't igore the doubt,
It's time to get out.

You could climb up and discover the sky,
You could walk forwards and let the past die.
You could stumble backwards into memories,
But you're just falling to the melody.

Procrastinate until it becomes too much,
Let time stretch until you've had enough,
Softly hoping to leave a mark.
Turn to familiarity for oblivion,
Ignore the battles you're scared you won't win,
Searching stubbornly in the dark.

When you unclench your fists and let it go,
Allowing some release to finally grow,
Replaying each scene and setting it in slow.
Life will compromise,
Don't over-analyse.

You could climb up so you'll never drown,
You could walk forwards to find a new frown.
You could stumble backwards into history,
But you're just falling to the melody.

Wow, I really love this. Do you have guitar tabs for it? Awesome job!
