The Life That Could Have Been, by librawoman Subscribe to rss feed for librawoman

She looks at the girl that stands in the mirror
She is filled with so much agony and fear.
When thinking of her dream life, it couldn’t be a sin
Of thinking of life and how it could have been.
She knows she could have it all and more
If her life could seem more like a life and less like a
chore.
Her life could have the beauty of colors like a rainbow
If only it didn’t make her always feel so low.
“Why can’t wishes come true?” she thinks
as she falls to the floor and sinks
into the pain her life has brought
and all that life has ever taught
that life can be unfair and that she knows it
and how she always acts never shows it.
As she looks back into her reflection
She sees the girl with a look of affection.
The girl looks back and says, “It will be okay
If you will just hold on for one more day.”
