                      TRUTH

Can it ever be accepted the words so softly said
Are there other ways of hearing what I so fear and dread
Is there a colossus that wilts within my heart
Or is it as in times before that I must surely part
Does the train of thought follow as was taught so long ago
It stood the years it graced the land it is correct and
truly so
There is no other way the past has to yield to time
The truth must be the master all else is simply crime
In language from the written word I can not condone
I would have to forsake all that sat upon the sacred throne
Lucifer the enemy stands tall to claim his mark
I stand alone not afraid although all is cold and dark
He can not override or take what’s in my saddened heart
But the danger there exists and I must surely start
To defend what I know is mine to hold and love in all
This of course is my defense I must not and never fall
My love is my master to teach and keep me well
In my heart I hold the answers and I must surely tell
Of the way that it must be the way to peace and quiet I
go on to survive the morning and defend another night

                                                 Brodie
