Greif Becomes him, by girlinthefrostedmirror

It’s easier than you think,
to leave someone behind
we like to think it’s difficult,
but wounds heal with time.
Well that’s a load of shit,
It hurts like hell nearly every day.
That ache in your stomach that notch in your throat,
The one that makes the tears rise up, makes it hurt to
breath
And can sometimes make you choke.
That stuff goes away.
But I watch him and even though he loves me
And I have found a place close to his chest.
Sometimes I wonder if he would trade me in if it meant
that he wouldn’t have to deal with death.
On that February day his voice cracked over the phone,
And I wanted to tell him,
It’s easier than you think,
to leave someone behind
we like to think it’s difficult,
but wounds heal with time.
But the words sounded wooden on the tip of my tongue
So I told him, to call if he needed anything.
And somewhere on that dark amusement park ride,
I knew I was in love with a man, who had something broken
inside.

This is so sad, but beautiful. I was in the same situation, and so, I made sure he never had to see me again, cause it was better for both of us. |
